“If you could do anything in the world for work, what would it be?” Dave asked.

“That’s easy: open a kids’ shop and start a farm sanctuary,” Ally replied.

This conversation took place on our first date at a cozy Washington, DC restaurant in 2012. The dream of opening a children’s shop had been with me for years, sparked by the many summers spent at my grandparent’s kid’s store in Somerville.

On that first date, I voiced my dream aloud, and now, 11 years later, with a new home, two kids, two labs, and a gaggle of cats, La Petite Ruelle has officially opened its doors on Main Street in Flemington.

Inspired by the incredible support from our community after opening The Corner, we took the leap and created a shop next door, inspired by our littles, Rosie + Maddox. From the moment you step inside, we want you to feel the warmth of a welcoming, trendy space filled with apparel you’ll love adding to your child’s wardrobe.

Our products are thoughtfully chosen from independent and local makers, supporting a community of artists and small business owners in an era dominated by big box stores.
